Ellen has been with St. Peters since 2008 in the infant room. She has been married since 1981! She and her husband have three grown children. Ellen attended Catholic school all through her childhood and they both have been parishioners at St. Peters since they moved to Birmingham from Houston, TX. in 1996. Her favorite part about teaching is to see them grow and develop and to know that she is playing a part of what they will become. In her spare time, she enjoys doing crosswords, Sudoku and working part time at Weight Watchers.

Miss Cindy has been with St. Peters for six years and has experience teaching religious education for over 25 years with all ages. She teaches because it gives her so much joy to see the children learn and grow right before her eyes! Miss Cindy has one daughter and twin granddaughters. In her spare time, she enjoys being the co-coordinator of Religious Education at St. Peters. She also enjoys art and singing.

 


Lee Smith

Lee has been with St. Peters since 2009 and has over 30 years’ experience working with all ages. A mother of an only, she says she teaches because she love to see children grow and develop and to know that she had a part in that and says her goal is to keep teaching until she retires. In her spare time, when she isn’t working at JC Penny part time, she enjoys listening to jazz music, watching television, shopping, participating in church activities and spending quality time with her family.

 


Angie Walker

Angie has been at St Peters since October 2016. She has over 14 years’ experience working with all ages. She received her BS in Specific Learning Disabilities from Florida Southern College and graduated Cum Laude. She is the mother to an only child and is currently pursuing RCIA classes at St Peters. She says that she teaches because she enjoys watching them develop, learn new skills and become more and more independent each day.

Eleanor has six years of teaching children ages infants to 2 years old. She has taken some courses at Jefferson State Community College. She enjoys teaching because she wants to impact the lives of children because she’s always had a love for children. She is married and has four children and six grandchildren. She has a goal to retire in five years so she can spend more time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with her husband, family and church.

Shun has been with St. Peters since 2005 and has worked with all ages. Raised by a single mother who is a minister, Shun in the older of two children. She says she teaches because she wants to make a positive difference in the next generation to help them grown into lifelong learners. She also wants to encourage them to become whatever they want to become. But most of all she wants to contribute to children the same way her teachers did with herself. In her spare time, she enjoys babysitting, shopping, reading and spending time with her family.

Angela has been with St. Peters since 2007. A mother of three and grandmother of the same, she has over ten years’ experience working with children of all ages. She says that she loves watching children develop from infants-toddlers. She especially loves watching their little personalities develop! In her spare time she enjoys playing tennis!

Enda has been with St. Peters since April 2016. Along with being a wife and mother, she has over 20 years’ experience working with preschool children. Enda has her Associates degree in Public Relations but says she feels that working with children is her calling. She enjoys seeing children explore, learn and develop skills as they grow and says her goal in life is to be a role model for each life she touches.

Carolyn has over 16 years’ experience working with all ages and has been with St. Peters since March of 2015. She currently holds her CDA. She teaches because she loves to see children learn. It can also be fun and challenging at the same time but seeing the progress the children make at the end of the year is truly rewarding. She is the mother to one grown son. In her spare time, she enjoys being with her sisters, reading and serving the Lord.

Lisa has been at St. Peter’s since 2018. She has over twenty years of experience teaching children of all ages! She holds her CDA credential. Lisa says she teaches because she wants to give children a head start in their education. She has been married for 23 years and is a mother to three children. Her interests include attending church and watching football.

Leslie has been with St. Peters since Aug. 2015. Leslie received her Associates degree in Child Development from Jefferson State Community College. She has over six years’ experience working with two, three and four year olds. She is the middle of five children and has two dogs, Lola and Lexi. Leslie’s favorite thing about teaching is that she gets to see children grow and mature right before her eyes. In her spare time she enjoys being creative by refinishing furniture and doing crafts.

Kenya graduated from the University of Montevallo with a B.S. in Family and Consumer Science with a concentration in Child and Family Studies. She has over ten years’ experience working with all ages. In her spare time, she enjoys reading.

Monica has been with St. Peter’s since 2016 and has experience working with all ages. She obtained her Associates degree in Child Development from Jefferson State Community College. She also plans to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Education in the near future. She loves to see a child learn and enjoy something because of something she taught them. She is married and has two children of her own. When she isn’t teaching, she is busy serving our county in the National Guard!

Emily has been at St. Peter’s since 2018. She holds her Bachelor’s degree in Human Environmental Sciences with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. Emily says she teaches because children are always learning something new and exciting and she wants to be a part of that process. Newly married, her interests include spending time with her family, church, listening to music, reading, traveling and anything outdoors.

Miss RhaSheina has been with St. Peters since August 2014. She has over 16 years’ experience working with children ages 4-7. She holds a B.A. in Communication Disorders from Miles College and would like to eventually receive her MA is Education. She says she teaches because she gets joy from seeing the light in a child’s eyes when he or she masters a previously difficult task or learns a new subject. She has been married since 2011 and has a beautiful daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys journal writing, singing in the church choir and tutoring.

Ashli has been with St. Peter’s since March of 2018. She has 2 years’ experience working with children in grades Pre-K to elementary. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Alabama and currently works as a Special Education Paraprofessional for Hoover City Schools. She says she teaches because she loves helping children further their education.

Joy has been at St. Peter’s since 2017 and has worked with infants and toddlers. She says she teaches because she loves the delight in children when they learn new skills. She especially loves teaching in a Christian environment where she has the opportunity to show the children God’s love. She has one daughter and granddaughter who she enjoys spending time with. She loves to read, crochet, sew and spending time with her granddaughter.

Kecha has been with St. Peter’s since 2018 and has experience with all ages. She is currently attending UAB majoring in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. She is a mother and plans to graduate soon with her Bachelor’s degree. When she isn’t serving our country in the National Guard, she enjoys writing, going to church and serving other people.

Catherine has been at St. Peter’s since 2018. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. When she isn’t in school, she enjoys learning more about pediatrics and spending time with her family.

Tammy has been with St. Peters since December 2014. She had previously worked as a substitute teacher in the public school for many years before entering early childhood in 2003. Tammy has two grown children of her own as well as a one grandchild. She says that she teaches because she feels it is her ministry to teach children about Jesus and says that she would possibly like to become a Director one day. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and spoils her grandson whenever possible!

A recent high school graduate, Ashley Kate has been at St. Peter’s since 2018 and has worked with children of all ages. She says that she enjoys teaching because she wants to help shape children. In her free time she enjoys volunteering!

Mary has been with St. Peters since May of 2000! She has experience working with all ages. She says she loves children and wants to help them learn. She has been married since 1979 and has three children and seven grandchildren (who are very spoiled)! In her spare time she enjoys sewing.


 

Alexis Sanders

Alexis has been with St. Peter’s since October 2018. She has experience with children off all ages including school age children. She currently attends the University of Montevallo pursing her Bachelors degree in Social Work and hopes to soon after earn her Masters degree. She teaches because she enjoys being able fulfill the mind of a child with learning perspectives. She also loves challenging them to learn new things in order to prepare them for the real world. She loves shopping, listening to music and being with family, which is the most important to her after God.


 

Shawna Whitlock

Shawna has been with St. Peter’s since October 2018. She’s been working with children ages infant to five years old for thirteen years. She has four of her own children which has her well prepared for teaching! She enjoys teaching because she loves to see children grown and learn.

 


 

Kristina Wildsmith

Kristina received her BS in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child and Family Studies from the University of Montevallo. She has been with St. Peters since August 2016. She has over twenty years’ experience working with children of all ages. Over ten of those years have been in the supervisory role. She is the mother of two children and says her favorite thing about teaching is seeing the smiles on the children’s faces every day! In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching Auburn football!

Monlecia has a B.S. in Child Development from Ashford University School of Education. She started with St. Peter’s in July 2017. She has twenty years of experience with working with children of all ages. She has served in a supervisory role for ten of those years. She’s a native of Cleveland, Ohio and a mother of two. She currently has a daughter at Tennessee State University working on a Master’s Degree and another at the University of South Alabama. She strongly believes that children needs structure, boundaries, and routines along with lots of nurturing to feel loved and successful. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family, traveling, mentoring young girls and sometimes just relaxing.

Ale has been with St. Peters since 2006 and has worked with all ages. Her favorite part about teaching is that she enjoys watching them learn and have fun at the same time. She has been married since 2000 and is the mother of three girls! When she isn’t being a chauffeur for her girls’ busy schedules, she enjoys reading and working out.
